National Gas Emergency Helpline

If you can smell gas or think that you may have a gas leak, call 0800 111 999 immediately. Do not use a naked flame or mobile phone and do not operate electrical switches. Turn off the gas supply at the meter and open doors and windows to allow the gas to escape.

Advice about your gas supply

It’s easy to get free, independent advice so that you “Know your rights” as an energy consumer. You might want to get a better deal, find out how to make a complaint, get advice about the quality of your gas supply, or ask for help if you’re struggling to pay your bills.
